Abstract | ||||
This study explores the potential of digital interactive printmaking as a contemporary artistic approach to environmental awareness. By integrating traditional printmaking techniques with digital tools such as QR codes, color transitions, and interactive visual symbols, the research addresses the limitations of static artworks in influencing public perception and behavior. The central problem identified is the insufficient persuasive power of conventional visual messages, contrasted with the growing need for participatory and engaging forms of artistic communication that foster environmental responsibility. The research adopts a mixed methodology that combines theoretical inquiry with applied experimentation. Theoretical foundations of interactive visual art and its communicative functions were reviewed, followed by a series of artistic experiments ranging from monochrome prints to color-enhanced designs and promotional posters incorporating interactive elements. Audience engagement was measured through questionnaires, behavioral observation of pause durations during exhibitions, and an ecological footprint test accessed via QR codes, linking artistic experience directly to real-life environmental practices. Findings reveal that interactive digital printmaking significantly improved both cognitive and emotional engagement with environmental themes. Participants reported high clarity of messages, strong emotional resonance, and a willingness to reconsider personal environmental behaviors. Behavioral observation confirmed varied but sustained audience interaction, with certain compositions generating longer attention spans. Results of the ecological footprint test highlighted unsustainable consumption patterns, averaging 3.5 Earths, thus reinforcing the urgency of the issues raised. The study concludes that the integration of interactive digital elements into traditional printmaking transcends mere aesthetic innovation. It serves as an effective cultural and communicative tool that fosters awareness, strengthens collective responsibility, and motivates more sustainable practices. Moreover, it demonstrates how art can function as a catalyst for social and environmental transformation, bridging the gap between visual expression and active public engagement. | ||||
