| Abstract | ||
| The study aimed to explore contemporary miniature art as an artistic medium used by female artists to express their own issues and the issues of women in their communities or in the diaspora. It also explored the role of traditional miniatures in conveying their feelings and stories, as well as highlighting the importance of reclaiming them in contemporary visual discourse within social and cultural contexts. The study relied on a descriptive-analytical approach through a semiotic and contextual analysis of artworks by contemporary female artists of various nationalities, during the period from 1970 to 2025. The results revealed that contemporary miniatures represent a powerful visual language that reflects the challenges facing women. Furthermore, the integration of traditional techniques with contemporary media allowed for the presentation of feminist messages of a global nature as a means of critical and influential visual narrative that reframes the role of women in society, demonstrating that reclaiming and re-formulating traditional arts can provide contemporary arts with a renewed tool for cultural resistance. | ||
