Abstract | ||
The Delta fishery map includes fishery resources in the Delta governorates, production quantities, geographical distribution, and production areas. It includes the Mediterranean Sea, northern lakes, coastal lowlands, the inland waters of the Nile and its tributaries, various types of fish farms, their distribution, and the quantities of production achieved from them. It also includes a fishery map and its geographical distribution in the Delta. It was found that more than 90% of fish production is geographically located within the Delta map, and more than 95% of production is produced from the Delta map and governorates. The Delta map includes fishing units, labor, and equipment, machinery, fishing areas, their geographical locations within the Delta, water areas, and fishery production quantities. The study aimed to clarify the geographical distribution of fishery resources and the volume of production achieved. It concluded that the Delta region, with its various regions, is the source of more than 90% of Egyptian fish production, and that the volume of fish production is similar. The aim of the research: is to shed light on the sources of fish production and their geographical distribution in the Delta, the size of the equipment and various resources in the Delta, and the importance of fish production in the Delta for the Republic. The study relied on the historical method of production and its development, the general time trend, and averages and percentages to compare production and its development. The study relied on the sources of the Ministry of Agriculture, research and books related to fish production.. Conclusively, the study recommends the need to make better use of the Delta's water resources by modernizing fishing methods and fishing gear. | ||
