| Abstract | ||
| Cultural heritage sites hold immense significance due to their rich history, architectural uniqueness, and contribution to cultural identity. However, these sites often face challenges such as limited resources and inadequate funding for conservation, leading to incomplete or ineffective preservation efforts. This paper explores the importance of integrating economic and investment factors into conservation projects for heritage areas to ensure their sustainability and preservation. A framework is proposed that incorporates various analytical tools to assess and optimize investment opportunities, ensuring that heritage areas can achieve both economic viability and cultural conservation. In particular, the study focuses on the Darb Al-Ahmar District, a significant heritage area in historic Cairo. The research utilizes a combination of tools and methodologies, including mapping, spatial analysis, and stakeholder interviews, to identify investment potentials and guide decision-making. These methodologies enable the identification of patterns of cultural heritage challenges and opportunities for revitalization. The findings emphasize the critical role of strategic investments and interdisciplinary approaches in achieving sustainable development for heritage areas. The outcomes serve as a practical model for urban planners, policymakers, and investors aiming to balance economic development with heritage preservation. | ||
