Abstract | ||
The research aimed to assess the resources of the Egyptian Universities Sports Federation. The researchers used the descriptive research method, with its various steps and procedures, as it was deemed suitable for achieving the research objectives. The research population consisted of (employees of the Federation and its affiliated committees, directors of student affairs departments in universities, directors of sports activities departments in universities, and directors of student welfare offices in universities). The Egyptian universities were divided into five regions: (Western Delta, Eastern Delta, Greater Cairo, Northern Upper Egypt, and Southern Upper Egypt). A random stratified sample was selected from the research population. A link to the questionnaire was distributed to 20 public and private universities, and 100 individuals from the target population responded. The researchers reached several conclusions, including: the scarcity of grants and donations received by the Federation from legal entities or individuals; the Federation's lack of investment projects to achieve financial self-sufficiency; the Federation's lack of ownership of sports facilities or other venues that generate regular revenue; the limitations imposed by current legislation on the Federation's ability to attract new investments or undertake long-term investment projects; and the need to create a supportive legislative environment for investment in sports organizations to enable them to become financially self-sufficient and reduce their reliance on government funding. | ||
