Abstract | ||
The research aimed to identify the knowledge of wheat farmers about good agricultural practices under climate change in Fayoum Governorate, and to determine the relationship between some independent variables and the level of farmers' knowledge about these practices. The study used a random sample of 358 farmers, and data were collected using a questionnaire during April, May, and June 2024. Descriptive statistics and simple correlation test were used to analyze the data. The results showed that: - More than three-quarters of the respondents (77.12%) had low or medium level of knowledge about good agricultural practices under climate change. - There was a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and variables such as experience in wheat cultivation, area of land cultivated with wheat, average yield per feddan, opinion leadership, and availability of extension services. - The most important sources of information for the respondents were seed traders and production inputs, relatives and neighbors, and personal experience. - The most prominent obstacles facing the respondents were the absence of extension services, small land holdings, high prices of fertilizers and pesticides, and insufficient fertilizer allocations.
