| Abstract This study uses Norman Fairclough’s (1989) three-dimensional approach to analyze selected discourses of Jhumpa Lahiri's (2013) The Lowland to investigate how ideology and power devices and relations are employed and manipulated to enable power holders to dominate contemporary discourses, and how institutions produce discourses by reproducing ideologies and power relations to achieve particular ideological situational, social, and institutional goals. The research aims to answer the following question: How is Fairclough's (1989) three-dimensional approach of CDA applied to analyze selected discourses of Jhumpa Lahiri's (2013) The Lowland to investigate how ideology is manipulated to enable power holders to dominate social, situational, and institutional discourses to achieve particular ideological situational, social, and institutional goals? Keywords: Fairclough’s three-dimensional approach, critical discourse analysis, discourse, The Lowland, ideology, power المستخلص تستخدم هذه الدراسة طريقة نورمان فيركلوف (1989) ثلاثية الأبعاد لتحليل خطابات مختارة من رواية ”الأراضي المنخفضة“ (2013) لجومبا لاهيري من أجل استقصاء كيفية توظيف وتلاعب الأيديولوجيا وأدوات وعلاقات السلطة لتمكين أصحاب السلطة من الهيمنة على الخطابات المعاصرة، وكيف تنتج المؤسسات الخطابات من خلال إعادة إنتاج الأيديولوجيات وعلاقات السلطة من أجل تحقيق أهداف أيديولوجية ظرفية واجتماعية ومؤسسية معينة. يهدف البحث إلى الإجابة عن السؤال التالي: كيف يمكن تطبيق نموذج فيركلوف (1989) ثلاثي الأبعاد لتحليل خطابات مختارة من رواية ”الأراضي المنخفضة“ (2013) لجومبا لاهيري (2013) من أجل استقصاء كيفية التلاعب بالأيديولوجيا لتمكين أصحاب السلطة من الهيمنة على الخطابات الاجتماعية والظرفية والمؤسسية لتحقيق أهداف أيديولوجية ظرفية واجتماعية ومؤسسية معينة؟ الكلمات الرئيسية: طريقة فيركلوف ثلاثية الأبعاد، تحليل الخطاب النقدي، الخطاب، الأراضي المنخفضة، الأيديولوجيا، السلطة | ||
