Abstract | ||
The acronym PERMA refers to five well-being pillars of true happiness theory, namely positive emotion, engagement, relationship, meaning, and accomplishment. The individual's level of prosperity increases with higher levels in PERMA dimensions. A technique to quantify these characteristics has been developed recently. This instrument has been modified to fit many cultural contexts and has proven to be a trustworthy indicator of well-being. The purpose of this study is to modify the PERMA-Profiler scale for use in Saudi Arabia and Egypt and to verify its validity. Following translation and back-translation processes, the tool was applied to female university students in Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The current study aims to ascertain whether a sample of female Arab university students from two distinct cultural contexts—Saudi Arabia and Egypt—can support the well-being model proposed by Seligman (2011). | ||
