Abstract | ||
Green and dry beans are considered among the most important non-traditional vegetable crops. The research results indicated that: the cultivated area, productivity, and total production of green beans tended to decrease at an annual growth rate of about 3.04%, 0.57%, and 3.65% of their average during the study period, respectively. The cultivated area and total production of dry beans tended to increase at a rate of 5.06% and 4.52%, while productivity tended to decrease at a rate of 0.61%. The value and price of green beans exported tended to decrease at an annual growth rate estimated at about 4.13% and 5.46%, while the significance was not proven. Export Quantity, the trend of the quantity and value of dry bean exports is increasing at an annual growth rate of about 10.90% and 5.35% And the trend of the export price is decreasing at a rate of 5.10%. By studying the geographical distribution of Egyptian exports of green beans, it became clear that the United Kingdom ranked first with 27.84% of the average export quantity, while Algeria ranked first with 29.99% of the average export quantity of dry beans. By studying the most important economic indicators of the competitiveness of green beans in the England and Italian markets, Egypt was characterized by a competitive price and quantity advantage in these markets. In addition to the high market share of Egypt and the rate of penetration of Egypt within these markets, which indicates the need to pay attention to increasing Egypt's exports to these markets. We find that Egypt was characterized by a competitive price advantage in the Algerian and Turkish markets, with a high market share index within these markets and a high penetration rate, but the quantitative competitiveness index decreased, which indicates the need to pay attention to increasing the quantity exported to these markets. | ||
