Abstract | ||
The infectious bronchitis virus (IBV) is frequently associated with respiratory illnesses in chickens worldwide; however, IBV genotypes have also been connected to reduced meat quality and deep pectoral myopathy. The current study aimed to determine potential consequences of Inosine-Acedoben-Dimepranol (Isoprinosine, IAD) alone or in conjunction with the Infectious Bronchitis vaccine on the quality of meat broiler challenged with wild avian Infectious Bronchitis virus (IBV). In this experiment, four proposed protection strategies were studied on seventy-two chicks in addition to the control group (G1) and the broiler served vaccine (G2). In the regimens, IAD was either administered alone (G3 and G4) at doses of 40 or 80 mg/Kg B.Wt. or in conjunction with vaccine (G5 and G6). The results revealed that broilers served the G5 and G6 protocols, followed by the G2, produced the superior meat quality attributes such as water holding capacity, drip and cooking losses, tenderness, and redder instrumental colour indices than control and G3 and G4 protocols (P < 0.05). In conclusion, the current data demonstrate that the antiviral activities of the IBV vaccine were synergistically enhanced when coupled with IAD. The beneficial effects of this synergistic action between IAD and vaccine were reflected in the current study's meat quality parameters. In contrast to protocols that use either vaccine (G2) or IAD (G3 and G4), applying IBV protection protocols that use both IAD and the IBV vaccine would protect higher-quality meat. | ||
