Abstract | ||
Background: Maternal and fetal health initiatives primarily target disorders passed from mothers to fetuses at an early stage and offer free treatment and medical care. Aim: Assessment the knowledge of pregnant women`s about Maternal and Fetal Health initiative and supportive treatment Design: This study utilized a descriptive cross-sectional design. Setting: The study was carried out at Hospital of Women's Health, Assiut University,Maternal and Childhood center at West Assiut District, and Ferial Maternal and Childhood center at East Assiut District. Sample: A sample of 350 pregnant women was included in the study. Tool: Structured interview questionnaire tool was used for data collection that included six parts demographic data, medical history, obstetrical history, current pregnancy data, data about pregnant women knowledge about initiative tests and knowledge about supportive treatment during pregnancy. Results: about 12.6% of women included in the study had a good knowledge level , while 39.7% and 47.7% of them had a fair and poor knowledge level. Conclusion: Near to half of women involved in the study. had a poor and fair level of knowledge about initiative test and supportive treatment during pregnancy. Recommendations: Providing antenatal educational sessions for pregnant women to raise knowledge level about screening tests and minerals supplementation during pregnancy. | ||
