Abstract | ||
Abstract Background: Climate change represents a challenging difficulty that requires transforming societies’ systemic practices to generate adaptation and mitigation solutions to address the climate crisis. Aim: This study aimed to assess preparatory school students’ awareness regarding climate change effects mitigation and adaptation .Research design: A descriptive research design was used in this study. Sample: Multi stage random sample included 240 students. Setting: 4 preparatory schools in Massara district (Hudaa Sharawy Eltagribia, El-kholafaa El- Rashedeen , El-Shaheed Ahmed Hamdy ,khadiga bent khoild preparatory schools). Tool for data collection: One tool included four parts, 1st part demographic characteristic, 2nd part students’ knowledge regarding climate change and its effects mitigation and adaptation 3rd part preparatory school students’ attitude toward climate change 4th part preparatory school students’ reported practices regarding climate change mitigation and adaptation. Results: 56.7 % of the studied preparatory school students had poor total knowledge regarding climate change effects mitigation and adaptation, 83.3 % of the studied preparatory school students had negative total attitude toward climate change effects mitigation and adaptation.40.0 % of the studied preparatory school students had a adequate total reported practices level regarding climate change effects mitigation and adaptation. Conclusion: There were highly statistically significant positive correlation between total knowledge, total attitude and total reported practices regarding preparatory school students’ awareness regarding climate change effects mitigation and adaptation. Recommendations: Provide students’with knowledge, practice regarding climate change mitigation and adaptation through educational program | ||
