Abstract | ||
The present study was carried out throughout two successive years (2022–2023) to determine Incidence of Planococcus ficus (Signoret) (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) infested grapevine trees and its associated parasitoids as well as control measure. The seasonal activity of P. ficus was studied during 2022-2023 in Daqhilia Governorate on grapevine. The obtained results showed that the average numbers of individuals were 6285.9, 5191.3, 3738.8, 322.8 and 449.4 individuals /sample for nymphs, non-ovipositing, ovipositing, the parasitoid Clausenia josefi Rosen and the parasitoid Neoplatycerus palestinensis (Rivnay), respectively. The average numbers of individuals were 6722.6, 4953.8, 3447.3, 284.0 and 429.5 individuals for nymphs, non-ovipositing, ovipositing, the parasitoid Clausenia josefi Rosen and the parasitoid Neoplatycerus palestinensis (Rivnay), respectively. Alternatively, the duration of seasonal activity exhibited significant alterations in both nymphal and adult stages due to the various weather factors tested (including daily mean maximum and minimum temperatures, as well as relative humidity percentages). The collective impact of these factors on nymphal activity fluctuated between 58.2% and 74.8% during the initial phase of activity, and between 66.9% and 74.8% in the subsequent phase, over a span of two years. Moreover, the combined effect on adult activity was observed to range from 53.9% to 76.3% during the first period, and from 84.9% to 87.9% in the second period, over the course of the first and second years correspondingly. Nine natural compounds and essential oils , mineral oil (Tiger) , Beauveria bassiana, Metarhizium anisopliae, Azadirachtin indica, citrus oil, buprofezin (Applaud), garlic oil, actellic and spinosad were evaluated for controlling the mealybug, P. ficus as well as their parasitoids the parasitoid C. josefi and the parasitoid N. palestinensis on grapevine in Daqhilia Governorate on during October 2022 and 2023. The obtained results revealed that actellic have given the highest reduction (%) values for P. ficus and its parasitoids during October 2022 and 2023. . In 2022 and 2023 in Daqhilia , the average reduction % values for P. ficus and its parasitoids, were (93.31 and 73.6%) and (92.60 and 74.5%), , respectively. On the other hand citrus oil and M. anisopliae have given the least reduction (%) values for P. ficus during October 2022 and 2023, respectively. In 2022 and 2023 in Daqhilia Governorate. While B. bassiana have given the least reduction (%) values for parasitoids of P. ficus during October 2022 and 2023. In 2022 and 2023 in Daqhilia, the average reduction % values for P. ficus and its parasitoids, were (78.79 and 60.8%) and (79.0 and 63.7 %), respectively. | ||
