Abstract | ||
The emergence of the metaverse represents a paradigm shift in the architectural profession, enabling innovative digital design processes, immersive experiences, and highly interactive virtual spaces. This paper examines how metaverse technologies are transforming architectural practice by integrating design experimentation, blockchain-based systems, and NFTs for digital ownership, authenticity, and value creation. It analyzes key metaverse platforms and architectural principles, highlighting their influence on design workflows, professional roles, collaboration methods, and new economic opportunities for architects. A practical implementation demonstrates the conversion of a traditional architectural project into a fully virtual building, illustrating both the creative potentials and the technical challenges of adapting design processes to digital environments. The findings reveal that the metaverse not only expands design capabilities and creative freedom but also establishes a parallel economic framework that redefines professional practice. The paper concludes with practical recommendations for integrating metaverse-based design methodologies, digital ownership models, and economic strategies into contemporary architectural education and future professional development. | ||
