Abstract | ||
The purpose of this article is a comparative typological study of the topic «The degree of historical accuracy in the plays of A.K. Tolstoy «The Death of Ivan the Terrible» and Tawfik al-Hakim «The Wise Suleiman». The scientific novelty of this article lies in the fact that for the first time a comparative study of the theme of history in the dramaturgy of the Russian writer and the Egyptian writer A.K. Tolstoy and Tawfik al-Hakim is carried out here. The article examines the theme of history in the historical plays of A.K. Tolstoy «The Death of Ivan the Terrible» and Tawfik al-Hakim «The Wise Suleiman» and reveals the degree of historical accuracy of the events described in them. In the plays under study, historical accuracy is combined with artistic fiction. Both writers used history as a basic for creating dramatic works that expressed their thoughts, revealed complex characters and raised important questions. | ||
