| Abstract | ||
| This research examines the obstacles to achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the development of strategic urban plans for existing cities. It focuses on three main dimensions: economic, environmental, and social. The study identifies key barriers that hinder the integration of SDGs into urban planning processes. From an economic perspective, challenges such as inadequate funding and unequal resource distribution limit the development of sustainable infrastructure. Environmentally, outdated infrastructure and increasing climate risks, such as floods and heatwaves, complicate efforts for sustainable urban growth. Socially, issues like social exclusion and inadequate stakeholder engagement obstruct equitable urban development. The study emphasizes the need for integrated solutions to tackle these interconnected challenges. It proposes innovative funding mechanisms, adaptive infrastructure, and inclusive planning processes to overcome these barriers and support sustainable urban development. This research offers actionable insights for policymakers and urban planners, advocating for more collaborative and comprehensive strategies that align urban planning with SDG principles. | ||
