| Abstract | ||
| Alongside the rise of the Industrial Revolution, the world had lower emissions than it does now days. That is because the aforementioned era was characterized by fast industrial growth, regardless of the negative environmental consequences, because factories widely spread and oil became the main energy source, so it caused air and water pollution, contributing to the environmental challenges we face today. Considering these environmental challenges, the international community has implemented several environmental protection agreements aimed at reducing emissions and mitigating climate change. International environmental agreements have been issued to enhance cooperation among states to save the environment. However, the effectiveness of such agreements has decreased because of the reluctance of some nations to commit to the pursuant targets. In addressing these challenges, the non-effectiveness of the international environmental treaties, there has been significant growth in the establishment of Environmental Courts and Tribunals (ECTs) worldwide, motivating the need to protect our environment from ongoing damage and degradation. While not all ECTs have succeeded in delivering justice in environmental disputes, many have effectively addressed complex environmental issues. This research examines the possibility of establishing Environmental Courts (ECs) in Egypt, analyzing how these courts could strengthen the country’s compliance with international environmental agreements and address environment challenges. By drawing on successful international models, the study proposes a framework for implementing Environmental Courts that aligns with Egypt’s legal and institutional systems. Strengthening environmental justice through these courts could pave the way for a more sustainable future. | ||
