| Abstract | ||
| Introduction The self-adhering flowable composite resin that has an adhesive resin incorporated into the flowable composite resin These materials are claimed to eliminate the need for a separate bonding application step, it may be considered to start the 8th generation of dental adhesive systems The main drawback of flowable dental composite resin is low strength compared to conventional composite resin. Aim of the work study the effect of nanosilica addition on shear bond strength of two self adhesive resin composites Materils and methods In this study we used Non-carious 40 sound human molars, recently extracted, Vertise Flow, Fusio Liquid Dentin, Vertise Flow modified with nano silica filler Fusio Liquid Dentin modified with nano silica filler Then specimens were immersed in distilled water at room temperature; that was changed every three days for the specimens aged for 3 months micro shear bond strength test were applied Results were Fusio Control(17.31±2.66 MPa) showed the lowest statistical mean µ-Shear Bond Strength (MPa) followed by Fusio+Nanosilica(19.08±1.45 MPa) followed by Vertise Control(21.52±1.15 MPa)followed by Vertise+Nanosilica(23.53±1.56 MPa) at p≤0.001 after 24 h .Fusio Control(12.83±1.88 MPa) showed the lowest statistical mean µ-Shear Bond Strength (MPa) followed by Fusio+Nanosilica(16.99±2.01 MPa) followed by Vertise Control(18.8±1.47 MPa) followed by Vertise+Nanosilica(19.91±1.33 MPa) at p≤0.001 with an insignificant difference between Vertise control and Vertise+Nanosilicaafter 3 months. Conclusion Nanosilica particles addition to the self adhesive materials used in this study might have a positive effect on the shear bond strength | ||
