| Abstract | ||
| This research explores the concept of urban singularity and its impact on urban identity through a comparative study of three major global cities: New York, Tokyo, and Paris. The study adopts a comparative analytical framework that integrates spatial and cultural perspectives, based on an in-depth qualitative analysis of urban characteristics, historical contexts, cultural expressions, and economic dynamics. It focuses on the complex interaction between urban identity and morphology, and how this interplay generates a unique character for each city. The findings reveal that New York is characterized by flexibility and diversity within a strict urban grid; Tokyo reflects adaptive planning that blends tradition with modernity; while Paris expresses visual coherence and a deep commitment to heritage. The study also identifies similarities such as the emphasis on public transportation and green spaces, alongside clear differences in architectural planning and urban philosophies. The research emphasizes that urban singularity is not limited to physical form but is a reflection of cultural and social depth, making urban identity a living product shaped by the interaction of time, space, and community. Based on these findings, the study recommends flexible and sustainable urban policies, including heritage preservation, community engagement, support for cultural initiatives, and the provision of affordable housing, with the aim of reinforcing each city's singularity and maintaining balance in the face of globalization and rapid urbanization | ||
