| Abstract | ||
| Background: The term "nursing career plateau" describes the psychological stress and dissatisfaction that nurses endure when their career advancement is momentarily or permanently halted. Nurses and the standard of patient care might suffer from career plateaus in a number of ways. Aim: to look into how self-efficacy affects the relationship between nurses' Innovative work practices and career plateaus. Research design: To conduct this research, a descriptive cross-sectional design was employed. Setting: Beni-Suef University Hospital in the Beni-Suef Governorate served as the site of the current investigation. Sample: The current research involved a convenience sample of 300 nurses. Tools: Tool I: Innovative Work Behavior Inventory; Tool II: Career plateau scale; and Tool III: General Self-Efficacy Scale. Result: The findings demonstrated a positive and substantial correlation between all of the studied variables. Self-Efficacy and Innovative Behavior have a substantial positive association (r=0.422, p<0.01). Furthermore, a weak but statistically significant positive connection was discovered between Career Plateau and both Innovative Behavior (r=0.238, p<0.01) and Self-Efficacy (r=0.218, p<0.01). Innovative conduct was significantly positively predicted by both self-efficacy (β=0.389, p<0.001) and career plateau (β=0.153, p=0.004). Conclusions: The research found that the connection between Innovative work behavior and career plateau is considerably moderated by self-efficacy. Recommendations: Provide ongoing education to nurses in order to enhance their competence and self-efficacy. More research should be done to determine the factors that contribute to nurses' career plateaus in various healthcare environments. | ||
