| Abstract | ||
| Purpose: To evaluate the visual acuity outcomes following standardized medical treatment for pediatric anterior granulomatous uveitis at a tertiary referral center in Minia Government, Egypt. Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 50 eyes of 50 patients who were diagnosed with acute granulomatous uveitis, Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was measured twice: once diagnosed and 3 months after receiving medical treatment using a Snellen chart. Results: BCVA was measured twice: once diagnosed and 3 months after receiving medical treatment . Before treatment, the mean visual acuity (VA) in log MAR was 0.55 ± 0.37 (median 0.48, range 0–1.78), and after treatment it remained unchanged at 0.55 ± 0.37 (median 0.48, range 0–1.78) with p = 1.0, indicating no statistically significant difference. No serious vision-threatening complications were observed. Conclusion: Visual acuity remains largely stable in patients with anterior granulomatous uveitis after over a 3-month medical treatment , There is improvement in BCVA best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) following medical treatment in pediatric granulomatous uveitis. However, this change did not reach statistical significance. | ||
