| Abstract | ||
| Background: Lower respiratory tract infections comprise a variety of conditions affecting the airways and lungs, such as acute bronchitis, pneumonia, acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and chronic bronchitis. Aim: to assess the nurse's performance regarding the care of children with lower respiratory tract infections. Design: A descriptive design was used for this study. Setting: This study was conducted at the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, which is affiliated to Tahta General Hospital and Sohag General Hospital. Sample: A convenience sample of all available nurses who work in the Pediatric Intensive Care unit was included in the study. (42 nurse) . Tools: 3. "For the purpose of data collection, the following instruments were utilized:". Tool (I): A personal data sheet. Tool (II): Observational checklist. Results:. : Illustrates that, 35.% of the studied nurses had poor knowledge level about nursing care for patients with the lower respiratory tract, 35.7% of them had average level, while 28.6% of them had good knowledge level about nursing care for patients with the lower respiratory tract. Conclusion: It was concluded that, nurses with higher knowledge levels demonstrated better practice and more positive attitudes. This indicates that improving nurses’ knowledge may be associated with enhanced performance and attitude toward the provided nursing care for those patients. Recommendations: Develop training programs regarding administration among pediatric nurses. | ||
