| Abstract | ||
| Digital transformation (DT) is a strategic requirement in organizations that aim to stay competitive and resilient in a fast-evolving and more uncertain market place where technology plays an increasingly vital role. This paper investigates how DT affects organizational resilience (OR) in the telecommunications sector of Egypt, which is a source of support of the wider country-wide digital transformation efforts. DT was developed as a two-dimensional concept that includes digital orientation (DO) and digital capabilities (DC), whereas OR was addressed as a unidimensional concept that indicates how well an organization is able to survive, react, and recuperate disruptions. The cross-sectional survey conducted on 361 managers and other professionals was used to collect data in major telecom companies. The results of the analysis showed that both DO and DC have a positive and significant effect on OR, and their effect is more beneficial when combined. These results prove that making the strategic digital vision consistent with operational capability increases preparation levels in organisations, enables risk management proactively, and contributes to ongoing adjustment in turbulent contexts. The research has added to the literature extending the DT0R nexus to the emerging market scenario and the importance of digital maturity with regard to developing resilience. Recommendations are provided to telecom executives and policymakers, highlighting the necessity to invest in digital infrastructure, train employees, and foster cultures of innovation. | ||
