| Abstract | ||
| Propolis is a honeybee substance that has been used as traditional medicine for many years. Propolis contains many phytochemicals and bioactive components, including phenolic acids, flavonoids, and enzymes. It promotes health and helps prevent diseases. Propolis has been extensively studied for its bioactive potential, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, antifungal properties, anticancer, and antitumor properties. Propolis contains beneficial characteristics and can be used to create functional foods. Nano-propolis promotes veterinary medicine by adjusting the size of propolis by various approaches. Free form propolis has limited benefits because to its low bioavailability, solubility, absorption, and lack of tailored control. Nano-propolis is produced by a number of nanoencapsulation techniques. Nano-propolis, due to its tiny size, is better absorbed by the body. However, some bee products may cause allergies, so use with caution. This review summarizes recent studies on the efficacy of propolis, including its components and physiologically active chemicals, in treating multiple medical conditions. | ||
