| Abstract | ||
| The electrochemical behavior of the pyrimidine ligand and its nickel ion and vanadyl (IV) ionmetal complexes was investigated by cyclic voltammetry using a system with three electrodes based on glassy carbon as the working electrode and different supporting electrolytes, such as KCl in the case of nickel ion and sodium perchlorate in theinvestigation of vanadyl (IV) ion. The cyclic voltammogram of the ligand shows no specific peak in both supporting electrolytes (KCl and sodium perchlorate).The voltammograms improve the reversibility of the nickelion system and the quasi-reversibilityofthe vanadyl ion one. The hydrogen evolution reaction goes through linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and electrochemical impedance (EIS) using by fabricated carbon paste electrode(CPE) and different modified electrodes of pyrimidine ligand and its metal complexes (nickel ion and vanadyl (IV) ion). The LSV and impedance (EIS) were also done using the CPE as the working electrode in an electrode system,given that the VO-complex has the most catalytic activity in HER. | ||
