| Abstract Introduction Congenital ptosis is the most common type of ptosis in the clinic, accounting for about 60% of all cases. Aim of study To evaluate the gross appearance and intraoperative characteristics of the levator aponeurosis in patients with simple congenital ptosis. Patients and methods The study involved 50 patients with congenital ptosis attending Minia University hospital seeking interference in the period from June2023 to January2025. Results The study involved 36 (21 female and 15 male) patients with congenital ptosis. . The study detected intraoperative fibrosis with a mean grade of 1.97±0.73, there was statistically significant difference among age groups regarding abnormal morphology as the mean value increases with age, with the highest fibrosis observed in individuals older than 20 years, and the lowest in children aged 5-10 years. Conclusion The study concluded that gross morphology of the levator aponeurosis differs according to the patient age with increased fibrofatty infiltration as the age advances. | ||
