| Veterinary Pathology deals with the alteration in tissues of domestic, wild, and experimental animals. The need for a well-equipped pathology lab, including a necropsy room as well as a histopathology lab, is essential for diagnosis and research. In the present editorial, the current status of education and training of Veterinary Pathology in the Saudi Arabia (KSA), especially in Qassim University (QU), is described, as well as the prospectives for improvement of the education and training of veterinary pathology speciality. The condition is described in KSA in detail and compared with those worldwide as well as in human pathology counterparts. Department of Veterinary Pathology, College of Veterinary Medicine, QU, is used as example for the study and facilities including the teaching policy, laboratories, experimental animal unit, and the cooperation between Veterinary Pathology and other majors in the university were described. Moreover, vision for improvement of Veterinary Pathology education and training in KSA is detailed to highlight the important role of the career in diagnosis, research, community service, welfare, and development of KSA. The editorial also covered the use of digital pathology in teaching and training of candidates. lastly, the work described the anatomy pathology training and board certification and possibility to apply in KSA. The editorial letter is highlighted the current status of the Veterinary Pathology education and training throughout KSA, use of digital pathology and possibility of board certification in KSA and gives a prescription for improvement of education and training to effectively support the Arab region focusing on KSA. | ||
