| Abstract | ||
| Background: Grit is the ability to persist in something feel passionate about and persevere when facing obstacles. This kind of passion is not about intense emotions or infatuation. It’s about having direction and commitment that play a pivotal role in achieving success and personal fulfillment. Aim of the study: This study aimed to assess grit and its relation to academic success among baccalaureate nursing students. Research design: A descriptive correlational design was used to carry out this study. Setting: The study was conducted at the Faculty of Nursing at Ain Shams University. Subjects: The subjects were included in 492 nurse students in the academic year 2023/2024. Tools: Data were collected by using a grit questionnaire and an academic success scale. Results: presents that less than one-third (29.3%) of the fourth academic nursing students had high grit levels. while less than one-fifth (12.2%) of the second academic nursing students had low grit levels. Meanwhile, more than one-quarter (29.1%) of the fourth academic nursing students had a “good academic success level”, while less than one-fifth (14.2%) of the second academic nursing students had a “poor academic success level". Conclusion: There was a highly statistically significant correlation between grit and academic success among nursing students. Recommendations: Provide a supportive and positive academic environment for nursing students, building mutual relationships between faculty members and their students to enhance students’ grit to share in academic and nonacademic activities and reach success. | ||
