| Abstract | ||
| Abstract: Background: Acute dyspnea is a common and potentially life-threatening condition in critical care settings, requiring nurses to have adequate knowledge and skills for the safe and effective administration of oxygen therapy. Aim: To evaluate the effectiveness of critical care nurses educational program on Administration of oxygen therapy for patients with acute dyspnea. Design: Quasi experimental research design. Sample: All available nurses in emergency unite about (06) nurses. Setting: All emergency departments in Tahta public hospital. Tools: two tools were used; Tool (I) a structured interview tool, consists of two parts: part (1) characteristic data , before and after assessment part (2) nurses‟ knowledge assessment sheet. Tool (II): nurses, practice assessment tool: Results: The study highlighted that the majority of critical care nurses were female, aged 18–30 years, married, and held qualifications from technical health institutes, with most having 1 to less than 3 years of experience. The majority had good knowledge and satisfactory practice levels after implementation educational program. Conclusion: A significant positive correlations were found between knowledge and practice scores before (R = .678 to .598) and after (R = .841 to .810) the program, highlighting the program‟s effectiveness. Recommendations: Develop and implement targeted training programs focused on enhancing nurses' knowledge and skills regarding acute dyspnea, tailored to their demographic profiles and experience levels. | ||
