| Abstract | ||
| Governance is one of the essential mechanisms that plays a pivotal role in promoting and consolidating the values of belonging and community participation among children with special needs, as it represents a regulatory framework that ensures transparency and accountability and enhances this group's ability to positively integrate into society. The problem of the current research is represented by the clear deficiency and weakness in activating these values within the community environment in which these children live, which may negatively impact their opportunities for integration and strengthening their sense of identity and belonging. Hence, the importance of this study emerged, which sought to reveal the role that governance, in its various dimensions, can play in developing the values of belonging and community participation among children with special needs. The study relied on the descriptive correlational approach due to its suitability to the nature of the subject. Data was also collected through a questionnaire designed specifically for this purpose and distributed to a sample of (100) children with special needs in the Dokki and Imbaba areas of Giza Governorate. The results showed a statistically significant effect of governance and its core dimensions (accountability, responsiveness, participation, and the rule of law) on activating the values under study, reflecting the effective role of these mechanisms in improving children's integration into their social environment. Statistically significant differences were also found attributable to the variable of geographic area, while no other differences related to additional variables were found. | ||
