| Abstract: This study aimed to identify the social problems associated with health and environmental behavior in childcare within rural Egyptian communities. The descriptive-analytical method was adopted, and a set of appropriate measurement tools was utilized. The sample consisted of 400 rural mothers aged between 20 and 40 years. The results revealed several social issues that negatively impact health and environmental childcare practices. These included poverty, large family size, inability to meet children’s basic needs, excessive reliance on technological devices such as television and mobile phones, lack of family stability, unhealthy maternal behaviors during pregnancy, poor nutritional practices with children, the use of medications without medical guidance, and inappropriate parenting methods that affect children’s mental health. Additionally, the findings indicated a lack of awareness regarding environmental behavior and pollution risks. The study recommended the development of integrated awareness programs targeting rural mothers, focusing on the social, health, and environmental aspects of childcare from pregnancy through early childhood. It also emphasized activating the role of primary healthcare units and mother-and-child centers in villages by organizing regular educational and counseling meetings. Furthermore, the study called for launching broad awareness campaigns about the risks of excessive technology use and offering safe alternatives for rural families, in addition to designing psychological and educational counseling programs to support mothers in creating a stable and nurturing environment for children's emotional and behavioral development. | ||
