| Abstract | ||
| The study aimed to understand the human right to the environment by highlighting international agreements and the role of the United Nations Environment Programme in protecting the human right to a healthy environment. The researcher used the descriptive and analytical approach to describe and explain the phenomenon by identifying its characteristics and dimensions, with the goal of arriving at a comprehensive scientific description of the protection of the human right to a clean environment. The analytical part of the methodology was to analyze legal texts and international conventions to show their adequacy or inadequacy and the extent of their effectiveness, analyze jurisprudential opinions, reconcile them and give solutions, in addition to collecting and analyzing information related to the study, to detail the subject of the study and reach through that the optimal method to face the issue. The study reached several results, the most prominent of which were that there is a close relationship between the human right to a clean environment and the rest of human rights, and that the human right to the environment does not only affect the current generation, but its positive repercussions extend to future generations. The study also made several recommendations, the most important of which are as follows: The recognition of the right to the environment should be embodied in a binding universal declaration of human rights, and the declaration should include clear mechanisms that guarantee the enjoyment and protection of this right. | ||
