| Abstract | ||
| This paper examines an Ancient Egyptian Administrative title that appeared only during the First Intermediate Period, having been documented for only three officials from that period. Initially, the Author analyses the two parts that form the title, referred to here as “imy-r” and “xrpw”, along with their readings and translations. This Analysis is followed by a comprehensive tracking of all titles containing both parts imy-r and xrpw together, as well as those that contained xrpw alone during the Old Kingdom, in addition to titles with a similar form during the Middle Kingdom. Next, the researcher studied all the titles held by the three officials who held that title in order to determine its nature, the tasks entrusted to its holder, as well as the administration / department to which it belonged or was a part of. In conclusion, the researcher posits that xrpw was a labor administration or work office headed by the title holder. Its duties included providing laborers, servants, and at times scribes to numerous other departments. | ||
