| Abstract | ||
| Monthly, random samples of Liza saliens were collected from fishermen operating at various landing sites in Bardawil lagoon, North Sinai Egypt, during the period May to December. In the present work, 617 specimens of Liza saliens were collected. The sizes for all individual of Liza saliens are ranging between 8.4 to 32.2 cm in length and 11.8 to 234.4 g weight. The relationship between length and weight and the condition factor (K) were studied. The length weight relationship was W = 0.0265 L2.6095 (R2 = 0.9364) for Liza saliens and the value of b exhibited the growth is negative allometric (b < 3). The condition factor for Liza saliens during period study was about 0.88 in combined sexes. The highest K value was observed in August, September and low during May. This work aims to identify biological data for L. saliens to assess the status of species in Bardawil lagoon to provide the information required and provide fisheries managers with current and reliable biological information about the catch of Liza saliens which may be useful for improving fisheries in Bardawil lagoon. | ||
