Abstract | ||
Nitrofurantoin® is an effective drug and used for treating urinary infectious diseases. A series of nitrofurantoin® analogues bearing furan and pyrazole scaffolds as N-aryl-3-(arylamino)-5-(((5-substituted furan-2-yl)methylene)amino)-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxamide (7a-g and 9a-f) were designed and synthesized by the condensation of 5-aminopyrazole with 5-nitrofuran-2-carbaldehyde (6) or 5-methylfuran-2-carbaldehyde (8) for evaluation of their antibacterial properties against Gram +ve and Gram -ve bacteria then comparing with nitrofurantoin® as standard drug. | ||
