| Abstract | ||||
| The modernism movement regarded an intellectual conversion in the design fields in general, and particularly in the interior design and furniture. A great number of design theories appeared that led to a change in the conepts of classical beauty towards new modernism trends with new plastic values. These new modernism values appeared in the western societies ater the first world war for developmental purposes. They reflected the problem of the intensive necessity for a quick rebuilding after the ruin resulted from the war. Those values had succeeded to a great extent to deal with this problem and introduce designing visions reacting with the developing human requirements.modernism is considered as one of the most important design trends that emerged during the 20th century. Its applied works are still internationally acceptable and influential. Hence relies the significance of the research. The main research problem is the loss of the logical vision in Modernism Movement value analysis and its influence on the following design trends which are considered contemporary nowadays. The research aims at asserting the value of the Modernism Movement and the revival of the concept of the intellectual communication amongst the different international design trends in the field of furniture design. Results:The importance of The Modernism Movement trends relies on the changes it reflected on the creative medium as well as providing a modern design atmosphere its inspiring bases depend on abstraction and simplicity with regard to the modern technology. This modern atmosphere succeeded to achieve Transforming the design concept towards treating the human problems by a functional and scientific methodology. This methodology is subjected to evaluation criteria aiming at achieving balance between the aesthetic dimension and the beneficial one. This is already fulfilled concerning the functional theory in confront to the contemporary economical problem. A condition that led to an international, intellectual communication amongst the design trends. The abstract trend and the extreme simplicity that characterized The Modernism Movement is flexible concerning adding new plastic values. Moreover, most of the design trends that followed the modernism added to the intellectual variables that emerged in this age. They never contracted with them. Through sometimes, From the previously mentioned results of the research, it can be conclude that the influence of the intellectual conversion in furniture design through The Modernism Movement on the contemporary design is clear in two main direction. | ||||
