Abstract | ||||
The quick change in the Egyptian lifestyles had bad impact on the Egyptian Urbanism, One manifestation of this: exposure to many threats with negative impact on the standard of living of the population, such like: the shortage of basic facilities (drinking water, sanitation, energy, absence of control over the construction, and the spread of slums). The global interest in the sustainability & sustainable development, which shown by the United Nations encourage many organizations and institutions in many countries of the world to contribute in consolidating the principles of sustainability and ways to achieve them in applications and practically proofs. So it was necessary to take advantage of the United Nations indicators and sustainability criteria established by international organizations and experiences that applied the concept of sustainable development to reach with the Egyptian cities to sustainable urban character. This research deals with the concept of sustainable development in general and what the United Nations Organization and supporting organizations of sustainability to support this concept and how to apply it practically at the local and international level and through the study is to get special criteria that aims to evaluate the sustainability of the new urbanism projects in Egypt and how to take advantage of United Nations instructions In this area. | ||||
