Abstract | ||||
يتناول هذا البحث مفهوم الديمقراطية عند «سيدني هوک» “Sidney Hook” (1902-1989) ومدى ارتباطها بتعزيز الحرية الإنسانية، حيث يُعَدُّ هوک من أبرز وأهم الفلاسفة المعاصرين الذين عالجوا فکرتي الحرية والديمقراطية، وهو يُعَدُّ النصيرَ الأکبر والفيلسوف الأبرز للديمقراطية بعد جون ديوي. ويتم ذلک من خلال تحليل الأسس الفلسفية التي تستند إليها الديمقراطية، ومبادئها الأساسية، وشروط قيامها، والصلة بينها وبين الرأسمالية، وبينها وبين الاشتراکية، وغير ذلک من المسائل الأخرى. ومن هنا تتجلَّى إشکاليةُ البحثِ في محاولة الإجابة عن عدد من التساؤلات المهمة، ويقف على رأسها ماذا تعني الديمقراطية في نظر هوک؟ وهل الديمقراطية نظام مثالي للحکم؟ أم أنها أکثر من کونها مجرد نظام سياسي؟ وهل يمکن استخلاصُ الأسس الفلسفية للديمقراطية من فکر بعينه؟ وهل يُعَدُّ المجتمعُ الرأسمالي، أم المجتمع الاشتراکي، الصورةَ المثلى لما ينبغي أن يکون عليه المجتمع الإنساني بصفة عامة؟ وقد توصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج منها أن سيدني هوک يُعَدُّ صاحبَ نظرة خاصة للديمقراطية والحرية، وقد ارتبط مفهومه للديمقراطية ارتباطًا وثيقًا بالمذهب الإنساني في عصر التنوير، وبقيم مثل «تکافؤ الفرص»، و«الاختلاف والتنوُّع»، وملکة «الذکاء النقدي»، و«الشجاعة الأخلاقية». | ||||
