Abstract | ||||
This study aimed at: (1) identifying the status qou of job burnout among extension personnel in the New Valley governorate in terms of job burnout degree, causes, concequences, and coping patterns the respondents use to deal with work problems; (2) determining the nature of the relationship between areas of worklife and the job burnout dimensions (3) testing the mediating effect of job burnout between areas of worklife and organizational change. Data were collected from all of the extension personnel in the New Valley governorate (77 personnel) by questionnaire during May 2017. Frequencies, percentages, arithmetic mean, Spearman rank correlation coefficient, and mediation analysis were used for data presentation and analysis. The results revealed a high degree of job burnout among the respondents, and a high presence of organizaional causes of job burnout inside the extension work environment of the New Valley governorate, in addition to a moderate degree of organizational change within the extension system in the New Valley Governorate. It also cleared up that the respondents depend on escapist more than control coping patterns to deal with work problems and pressures. The results of the mediation analysis confirmed that job burnout significantly mediating the relationship between areas of worklife and organizational change. | ||||
