Abstract | ||||
SAERIES of new 1,4-benzoxazepin-5(4H)-ones was prepared by …….alkylation of salicylamides with phenacyl bromides followed by cyclodehydration of the resulting amides. Treatment of the 1,4-benzoxazepine-5(4H)-ones with phosphorus pentasulphide afforded the corresponding 1,4-benzoxazepine-5(4H)-thiones. N-alkylation of the 1,4- benzoxazepin-5(4H)-ones and S-alkylation of the 1,4-benzoxazepine-5(4H)-thiones were described. Some of the new compounds were subjected to preliminary screening for their tranquilizing effect. | ||||
