Abstract | ||||
The meeting of the Arab world with the West, and the different signs of whose modernity are concerned since the early nineteenth century, that is, since the actual commencement of these encounters. These writings have made a clear contribution in explaining many intentions related to the aspects of the great dispute which are handled by the pens of thinkers and researchers, the dispute of "originality and contemporariness". This study is an attempt to present the important aspect of the topic: "encountering the west", according to its emergence in examples from the contemporary short story in Sultanate of Oman. The study deals with the following aspects: non-awareness, interest in gaining knowledge, discovery surprise, the single-sided look and returning to the homeland. | ||||
