Abstract | ||||
The main objective of this study is to improve the influence of spacing between double submarine pipelines on local scour. Experiments have shown how local scour develops around double submarine pipelines in noncohesive sediment. Based on experimental results, a number of curves are illustrated to represent the relationship between maximum scour depth and Froude number for pipeline diameters, spacing between pipelines, flow depth and flow rate per unit width. It highlights the limitations of Froude number of estimate maximum scour depth at submarine pipelines. According to Froude number limitations, three formulae for prediction of maximum scour depth at submarine pipelines are presented. | ||||
