Abstract | ||||
The current study mainly aimed at developing a scale of measuring the technical and educational quality of extension posters which has acceptable degree of reliability and validity and using it in evaluating the technical and educational quality of selected sample of extension posters. To achieve these objectives, 24 of juries from professors at both universities and agricultural research centers were asked to review the proposed scale. Also, 74 evaluators from researchers at both universities and agricultural research centers, and extension workers were asked to evaluate the technical and educational quality of selected extension posters by using the developed scale. Moreover, six posters from a total of 23 posters . evaluated were selected to be examined on farmers in three villages each of them has agricultural extension center. These villages are Galia, Meet EL- Amel and EL-Kordy at Belqas, Aga and Meniat EL-Nasr districts respectively. The six selected posters were hanged in eight locations in each village. These locations are agricultural extension center, agricultural cooperative society, main mosque, service complex, village market, youth club, and main street in the village. An accidental sample of 196 farmers was interviewed after one week of posters' hanging in the selected locations. The data was collected during the period from February to June 2004. Reliability Coefficient, Validity Coefficient, Correlation Matrix, Variance and Arithmetic Means were used to test the proposed scale statistically. Furthermore, Frequencies, Percentages, Arithmetic Means, Weighted Means, t-test, and Chi-Square test (x2) were used to analyze data statistically. The study reached a number of important findings which can be summarized as follows: 1- The study findings revealed that the proposed scale of technical and educational quality of agricultural extension posters has a high reliability coefficient (0.9383) and validity coefficient (0.968). 2- The study results indicated that the selected agricultural extension posters were highly fulfilled the technical and educational quality criteria, whereas the mean of technical and education quality criteria of the selected posters was ranged from 71.4% to 92.8%. 3- The study results revealed that there are no differences between the fulfillment Jf the six studied extension posters to technical and educational quality criteria, and the level of sample farmers' benefit from these posters. These results reflect the agreement between evaluators and targets in their estimation to both technical and education quality, and farmers benefit from the tested six posters. | ||||
