Abstract | ||||
E-learning in our countries faces many challenges and constrains that may prevent it from reaching its goals. This study aims to explore the virtual design studio VDS and blended design studio outcomes on education in terms of benefits, disadvantages, and constrains to come out with lessons to be a key-stone in developing the learning process. This research presents the results of a study that lasted for two consecutive semesters, in which the teaching of architectural design studio moved from traditional methods to virtual then to the blended system at Nahda University in Beni Suef related to the current situation necessitates in the universities to use technological applications as an alternative to the conventional learning system (face to face) due to the spread of the Coronavirus (covid-19). The descriptive and analytical approaches were used through literature review, participant observations, interviews, and questionnaires. The findings from this study motivate adjustments to existing curricula that can provide new visions into traditional pedagogical models related to design studio. Results show that the blended system helped to solve many problems and reduces the constrains of the virtual design studio and keep the benefits of the conventional learning system. | ||||
