Abstract | ||||
This study aimed at identifying farmers' levels of implementing some innovated practices in the product of wheat growing, the causes of non-implementation, identifying the relationship between the level of implementation, the independent studied variables and defining the independent variables which contribute in explaining the variance in dependent variable. The study was conducted in Minia as the largest Governorate where wheat is grown. The two biggest Districts of wheat growing, were selected. These two Districts were: Minia District and Samalut District. In each of these two Districts, the largest village, in terms of the area cultivated with wheat, was selected. The two selected villages were: Saft El-Khomar in Minia District, where the total number of wheat growers was 810 farmers, and Shusha in Samalut District, where the total number of wheat growers was 890 farmers. Thus, the total number was 1700 wheat growers. A sample of 170 wheat growers, 81 from Saft El-Khomar village, and 89 from Shusha village, was randomly selected. This sample represents 10% of the total number of wheat growers in the two villages. Data were collected, during June, 2010, through personal interviews with the sample, by using a questionnaire designed and pretested for achieving the study objectives. Frequencies, percentages, correlation coefficient, and Step-wise Analysis were used for data presentation and analysis, by using the SPSS. | ||||
