Abstract | ||||
From the methanolic extract of the fresh berries of Solanum nodiflorum Jacq. (Solanaceae), Four known steroidal saponins were reported and identified as: (20S)-3ß, 16 ß -dihydroxy preg-5-ene-22-carboxylic acid-(22,16)-lactone-3-8- chacotrioside (Dumoside 1) and 3 ß - dihydroxy pregn-5,16-dien-20-one 3-0- ß chacotrioside; (Aethienolone 4), 3-0-a-L- rhamnopyranosyl-(1→2)-a-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1→4)- ß -D-glucopyranosyl (25R,26R)-spirost-5-ene-3ß, 17α, 26-triol 2 and ß -chacotriosyl-(22,26R)-furost-5-ene-3 ß,17α,22,26-tetraol-26-O- ß -D-glucopyranoside 3. Their structures were identified by extensive 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and DEPT-13C-NMR data as well as comparison with reported spectroscopic data. | ||||
