Abstract | ||||
One-third of the world produced food is wasted according to FAO (2011). As well, obesity has tripled since 1975 (WHO, 2018). The aim of this paper is to identify the relationship between food waste and obesity in terms of perceptions and behaviors in Egypt. to achieve this objective, an exploratory analysis is carried out considering factors to be tested affecting both phenomena identified by the recent literature. Results indicate that the relation between the two factors is found statistically significant. Additionally, the individual’s perception about food waste and obesity was examined at the household level. The findings suggest considering these factors when developing new policies and campaigns for food waste/obesity reduction. | ||||
