Abstract | ||||
A new series of N-(4)-substituted thiosemicarbazone derivatives 4-8 incorporating a benzo[d][1,3]dioxole moiety were synthesized through the reaction of N-(4)-(benzo[d][1,3]dioxol-5-yl)-thiosemicarbazide with various carbonyl compounds such as aromatic aldehyde, heterocyclic aldehyde, acetophenone, heterocyclic ketone and cyclic ketone derivatives. The structure of the prepared thiosemicarbazones was established based on spectroscopic IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and elemental analyses data. The antiviral activity of the synthesized compounds was tested against Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVDV). | ||||
