Abstract | ||||
Abstract Confetti found its way among elite and public circles during the Ghaznavid Empire, where it became an objective equivalent to the joy and pleasure achieved at the political and social levels in this era. Confetti was not an end in itself as much as it was a means to draw attention to an important event in the Ghaznavid Empire. Although confetti was just some dirhams, dinars, jewelry or sweets (e.g. sugar) received in front of the sultan or before him, it is presented in several ways, and linked to important events related to the Sultans and governors of this era. This research attempts to historically study and present the phenomenon of confetti during the Ghaznavid Empire through a set of the following points: Confetti for the sultans Confetti when holding office Confetti when welcoming ambassadors Confetti at war victories Confetti at social events Confetti from a religious perspective | ||||
