| Background: CVD is a long-term status with serious and often fatal results. In this review we discussed the main areas targeted for primary prevention of CVD in primary care and recommendations to reduce risk of CHD. Method: We systematically searched electronic databases (MEDLINE, Embase, SCOPUS, CINAHL,) for published articles discussing coronary artery disease management in primary care, and the roles of family doctors in reducing the risk of CHD. Conclusion: CVD is a major cause of disability as well as premature death throughout the globe. The underlying pathology of atherosclerosis established over several years and is generally advanced by the time the signs and symptoms occurrence, normally in midlife. The threat of creating CAD raises with age, as well as consists of age > 45 years in men as well as > 55 years in women. A family history of early heart disease is also considered a danger factor, such as cardiovascular disease in the father or a brother detected before age 55 years as well as in the mother or a sister detected prior to age 65 years. | ||||
